Effective September 3, 2026
intervl is a browser-based cycling coach and workout app. This policy explains what information intervl collects, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password hash, display name, avatar, sign-in sessions, and account creation and update times.
- Rider settings: FTP, weight, units, timezone, training focus, goal event date, and onboarding choices.
- Workout and ride data: workout plans, coaching conversations, routes, completed activities, ride files, and recorded metrics such as power, cadence, heart rate, distance, speed, elevation, and GPS position when available.
- Connected-service data: provider account identifiers, profile details, OAuth credentials, routes, activity summaries, and upload results, depending on the services you choose to connect.
- Technical data: ordinary server logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, including request times, requested paths, errors, and network information.
How we use information
We use this information to create and refine workouts, personalize coaching, control compatible trainers in your browser, record and analyze rides, sync data you request, maintain your account, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve intervl.
Workout prompts and relevant rider, workout, and training context may be processed by Cohere or OpenAI to generate coaching and workout suggestions. Do not put sensitive personal information in a coaching prompt that is not needed for your workout.
Connected services
Connecting a service is optional and occurs only after you authorize it.
- Strava: intervl may use your Strava identity to sign you in and, with your permission, access profile, route, and activity information or upload completed rides. Strava data is subject to the permissions and requirements of Strava's API.
- Wahoo: intervl stores your Wahoo authorization credentials so it can identify the connected account and upload completed ride files that you choose to send. Disconnecting Wahoo deletes those credentials and pending Wahoo connection attempts from intervl.
- Garmin: broad per-user Garmin connectivity is not currently offered. If it becomes available, this policy will be updated before general release.
Disconnecting a provider stops future access by intervl, but it does not delete data already sent to that provider. You can manage that data in the provider's own service.
When you choose to upload through Wahoo, intervl provides Wahoo with the ride file and related application data needed to process that upload. Wahoo may collect, modify, copy, analyze, and use developer-application data sent to its platform for business purposes under Wahoo's Privacy Policy.
When information is shared
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising. We share information only as needed to provide the service, at your direction, to protect intervl and its users, or when legally required.
Service providers may include Fly.io for application hosting, connected fitness platforms you authorize, and Cohere or OpenAI for generated coaching. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Storage and retention
Account settings, workouts, conversations, ride history, and ride files are generally kept while your account is active so the product can provide history and continuity. OAuth credentials are kept until you disconnect the service, revoke access, or delete your account. Provider-derived data may be refreshed, shortened, or deleted sooner where a provider's rules require it.
Backups and operational logs may remain for a limited period after deletion before aging out. intervl is currently hosted in the United States, so information may be processed there.
Your choices
You can choose which services to connect, disconnect Wahoo from your profile, revoke provider access in the provider's settings, and delete individual chats, workouts, and activities where those controls are available. To request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account and associated information, email privacy@intervl.cc.
Security and age limits
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. intervl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product or its provider integrations change. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@intervl.cc.
